Christmas, The REAL Christmas

11/30/2018

This time of the year is always filled with rushing to get the tree up, the presents bought and wrapped, plans for the holiday, and so much more. People who should be embracing the joy and love of the season are instead grumpy and self centered; they are in so much of a hurry that they don't think of the people around them. And with the culture today, this has become acceptable. And with the culture today, we have come to focus more on Santa, who (spoiler alert!) doesn't exist and is NOT the reason for this time of year. Yes, I said it. Santa is not real. However, the reason we even have Christmas, Christ, is VERY real, and worthy to be not only acknowledged this time of the year, but should be the center of every thing about this time of the year. However, because it is not politically correct to even SAY the name of God, He has becomes a distant memory; a 'thing' that our Great-Grandparents did, and celebrated. I am going to tell you right now, if you haven't already figured this out, I am by NO MEANS politically correct. I say Merry Christmas, not Happy holidays. I say Santa is a thief of Christ's glory, and Focus on ONLY Him this time of the year. So, over the next 24 days, I am going to (or try to) do a blog post every day about the REAL Christmas, the one that is about Jesus Christ, not Santa, Frosty, Rudolf, or any one else.

I will not apologize if I have offended anyone because in I Cor. 1:23, Scripture clearly tells us that the preaching of Christ and him Crucified is "...unto the Jews a Stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;".

Turkey Time!!

It's here!! well, almost. ;)

Thanksgiving. A day to stop, eat WAY to much food, including yummy TURKEY, and to give Thanks for what we have. As a nation, we have much, despite the ever changing political and environmental climate.
  • We have our freedom: Thank you armed forces! May God bless you where ever you are on this Thanksgiving
  • We have more money than many second, and third world countries combined.
And on a personal note, I have much to be thankful for:
  • Ben has a great job that allows me to work from home; that allows me to try and start a business.
  • My health: I've been basically migraine free for almost three years now! This is HUGE! I used to fear every day if I would have one, and not be able to do anything about it except visit the hospital. Now, I can go about my day and not worry because GOD has granted me the knowledge to control them. Praise GOD for this answer to many years of prayer!!
  • I have a place to live! While it may drive me NUTS some days not having a garden,  or having to deal with all the dog poop around the complex, I have a place to call home.
So, while there is much to do this time of year, take time to be thankful for what you have, and THOSE you have.

Money, Money, Money

Well, it's that time of year again. Thanksgiving is a week away and everyone is looking at the sales coming up for Black Friday and Ciber Monday! And as the year is nearing an end, I too am counting money to see where I am going to get the cash to do what is needed for the business before the year is over. Can I be honest and open for a second? (Not that I'm not normally) I don't know where it's going to come from. Only God can get blood from a turnip, bread from a rock, and water from bone dry ground. As I try to build stock, file for state and federal registration, prepare for taxes, and try to keep this site going, I have to wondering if I will be able to do even the first item listed, let alone the last. However, I know one thing: If this is what God has for me to do, HE Himself will provide. He always has, and I know always will.

So, with those thoughts in mind, Shall I recap what has been going on lately?

Mid October I went to a small craft fair at a local Nursing Home. It was lots of fun talking with the residents and other vendors. Didn't sell much, but had some fun and was able to hand out several informational cards about me and what I do, many of which I am sure, sad to say, were pitched in the nearest trash can, or will be at some point in the near future. Guess that's just part of trying to get your name out there. :-/

Eeva is growing slowly but steady. She is 8 months old and now weighs in at 33 lbs, and stands about 19 in. at shoulder. She still makes it terribly hard to get much of anything done for the business or house cleaning, but I love her to pieces and she makes me smile. Her training is coming very slow, as she gets very distracted by the environment  around her. We are very much looking forward to a house soon. Hopefully that will allow us to train her more easily; I just hope we aren't too late in her development to do it. Here Praying!

Hope everyone has a Safe and happy Thanksgiving!
